Do it for the kids – the athletes and the program families!
The Kid’s Triathlons are Pittsburgh Habitat’s largest fundraising events each year. The triathlons give children in our community a chance to compete in an exciting event, and give us the opportunity to raise funds for families in our local communities.
NEW IN 2011: The Kids Triathlon team is working with the Pittsburgh Triathlon Club to plan a kids triathlon training session! Please check back in for more information as it is available. Space will be limited to 50 child athletes so keep an eye out for an email news blast from us or check ourFacebook page for updates!
The Kids Triathlon is not possible without our volunteers who generously give of their time and energy the day of the event. We are looking for PEOPLE LIKE YOU to guide our young athletes as they swim, bike, run, transition, and cross the finish line. Most volunteers are needed starting at 6:00am on race day. Volunteer opportunities are available prior to the race as well. Please consider helping to make this event the biggest and best event yet! Volunteer here!

Habitat’s program families and volunteers have been busy since the last youth triathlete ran across the finish line last summer. We completed a rehab in Sharpsburg and began working on our new ReStore in Edgewood Town Centre. We’re working on a minimum of six homes this year, continuing to build throughout Allegheny County.
Habitat for Humanity continually seeks to raise awareness of poverty housing and how we can eliminate substandard housing in our community. The Kids Triathlon is yet another way Habitat is able to expose children to the needs of others around them and the importance of community service. Habitat believes that these kids will one day come to the construction site and swing a hammer!
